Will I need to stay in Hospital to have Tumescent Liposculpture?

No: The majority of people can have their liposuction procedure performed in our office surgical suite. Most patients can go home immediately after the procedure. However if you are visiting the clinic from out of town, we mandate that you stay the night in Tauranga and visit the clinic first thing in the morning for a check up before going on your way.

How long do I need off work?

Tumescent liposuction recovery is rapid, and some people go back to work next day. Most people return to work within a few days, although a week off is certainly more pleasant.

Is liposculpture painful?

Older methods of liposuction surgery were associated with pain postoperatively. General anaesthesia was always needed. The pain is much reduced with the new tumescent method of liposculpture, particularly using the micro cannula technique. The procedure can now be performed under local anaesthesia usually without even any sedation. The postoperative pain is usually mild to moderate. Most patients take 2-4 Panadeine on the day following surgery.
