Collagen & Restylane
Collagen, the most abundant protein in the body can be used in a highly purified form to smooth the deep facial expression lines, crows’ feet and facial acne scars.
A simple and cost effective way of reducing facial lines and furrows, the injected collagen boosts your skin’s natural collagen, effectively softening wrinkles. This treatment takes only minutes, giving a very natural result and allows you to return to your daily activities. No time off is required.
Restylane and Perlane are natural compounds used to fill out wrinkles and give volume to the lip. This product gives shape with the body’s own natural hyaluronic acid by binding water in your skin to give lift, new firmness and volume. It is especially suited for lip enhancement as it has a longer lasting effect.
Dr Paul says “As we age, not only do we develop wrinkling of our skin due to a loss of elasticity caused by solar damage but also a loss of volume which is particularly apparent in the lips. As we age our lips get thinner, losing that sensual fullness of youth.”
Leanne Cashmore, a specialist cosmetic nurse at the Skin Centre says of Restylane and Perlane for the lip: “Women are thrilled that we can make such a difference so simply. It’s not just that lip stick doesn’t blend anymore, but it’s great to have the confidence that goes with a beautiful set of lips.”
Erbium Laser
The Erbium Laser is an advanced treatment for aging and sun-damaged skin. Eyelid lifts, wrinkle removal and rejuvenation of the skin is elegantly and most safely achieved with this latest technology. Weathered and blemished layers of skin are peeled away with precise control of the laser, giving your skin a smoother, softer, healthier and natural appearance.
The Erbium Laser provides a safe, bloodless and relatively pain free method of restoring skin. There is less post-operative redness and swelling than other skin resurfacing methods and it also provides rapid healing with most patients fully recovered within 10 to 14 days.
For the first few days after the procedure the treated areas are kept moist with ointment and dressings. It is important after treatment to protect the skin daily with sun block. Make-up can normally be applied again after the first week.
Dr Paul Salmon has used this laser technology since its outset and has lectured at several international conferences on laser treatment. He is acknowledged as New Zealand’s foremost expert on this technique.
