These two ingredients keep appearing in the magazines as the latest and greatest thing to put on your skin. I keep hearing “have you heard about Vitamin C and Hyaluronic Acid?” Well, I hate to be the one to tell you, but these ingredients have been a staple at the Skin Centre for years. This is nothing new but it is as amazing as the magazines say…

Clinical studies have proved the plethora of benefits of Vitamin C applied topically. The truth is many of the available formulations contain very low concentrations that are not well absorbed by the skin. When manufactured into a stable topical formulation it is proven to be effective in protecting against photoaging of the skin. Exposure to UV light decreases naturally occurring Vitamin C in the skin, topically applying it helps restore these protector levels. It reduces fine lines by activating your collagen fibres.

Hyaluronic Acid is once again a naturally occurring substance in the body. In fact it has been promoted as the fountain of youth. Hyaluronic Acid has exceptional water binding properties, acting like a sponge, it is exceptionally hydrating to the skin. Daily application reduces the impact of dehydration to our skin, it will immediately plump, moisturise and soften the skin. One of the most important factors of Hyaluronic Acid is its ability to penetrate the skin and assist in the delivery of other ingredients…. Hence mixing Vitamin C and Hyaluronic Acid together works so efficiently and effectively.

Immediate plumping and moisturising with the Hyaluronic Acid, using this as the delivery system for Vitamin C to penetrate deeper to help combat ageing skin, fine lines and pigmentation. The two of these ingredients working together have a profound effect.
