SkinCentre Taranaki operates from 183 Powderham Street, New Plymouth, where we specialise in Skin Cancer Medicine including skin cancer diagnosis and surgery. 

Skin Checks for Melanoma and non Melanoma skin cancer such as BCC and SCC are performed by Dr Geoff Tvrdeich. Treatments for skin cancer both surgical and non surgical are offered at the Skin Centre Taranaki.. 

SkinCentre Taranaki are Southern Cross Affiliated and are recognised by all major Health insurance companies in New Zealand.

Dr Geoff Tvrdeich

Geoff graduated from Otago Medical School in 1990 and worked as a House Surgeon and Medical Registrar at Taranaki Base Hospital before going overseas for a year. Upon his return he trained in General Practice and Palliative (Hospice) care and worked for several years as a GP and hospice doctor.

In 1997 he took over Dr Don Barclay’s General Practice in the old Westown Medical Centre. In 2000 he and the other doctors in the centre set up CAREfirst Medical Centre, moving into new premises in 2001. In 2004 he was made a Fellow of the Royal NZ College of General Practitioners.

Whilst working as GP he developed a strong interest in Skin Cancer Medicine & Surgery and has completed extensive training in this field. He gained the International Dermoscopy Diploma (Distinction) in 2007 and was made a Fellow of the Skin Cancer College of Australasia (SCCA) in 2010.

He is a SCCA tutor in Dermoscopy and Skin Cancer Surgery, teaching Diploma courses to other doctors in Australasia. As a Fellow of the college he is also involved in accrediting other doctors in New Zealand working in the Skin Cancer field.
